Escape to One Fish Whisper Cottage

 Jordan Lake is a beautiful, quiet lake with only a few cottages on it.  Enjoy 100 ft. of sandy shoreline, with a shallow entry for small children to play, or for you to just set up a chair and soak your feet.  The gradual slope of the cottage property allows for a gentle walk down to the water, complete with solar lights to guide you at night.  

You will feel like you are the only ones at the lake, as you listen to the loons call and look out towards the majestic rock face.   

The lake boasts great boating and fishing, offering Bass, Brook Trout and Rainbow Trout.  

 The cottage is only about 2-2.5 hours from Toronto, just over an hour from Peterborough, 40 minutes to Haliburton and only 25 minutes to Bancroft. Bancroft provides shopping, including a 24-hour grocery store, LCBO, Canadian Tire, brewery and many quaint stores and museums, as well as a golf course. Haliburton is also a lovely town to explore, with many shops, walking trails and a brewery just outside the town.

Silent Lake Provincial Park is only 20 minutes away, and we provide a park day-pass with your rental, where you can explore over 19 km of hiking trails and 17 km of mountain biking trails, along with 2 sandy beaches.  Algonquin Park's East Gate is only an hour from the cottage, and the day pass allows you to spend the day exploring this magnificent park. 

Enjoy the sauna right outside the cottage door to melt your worries away and use the aromatherapy oils to make it an even more luxurious experience. Or take a soak in the private 7-person hot tub while you look out over the calm, peaceful lake and gorgeous cliff face, where you can imagine you are the only ones on the lake!

There is a large deck on the front of the cottage with beautiful views of the lake. There is a BBQ provided, including propane where you can cook your meal and then eat outside under the screened gazebo. Or sit on the lounge set with the propane fireplace and listen to the sounds of the wildlife as the sun goes down.

 Included in your stay is access to a canoe, 2 sit-on-top youth kayaks, 2 sit-on-top adult kayaks, 2 stand-up paddleboards and a pedal boat! We also provide a floating dock just out from the shoreline for those more adventurous in your group that might want to jump into the water.   

 There is a large fire pit where you can sit and enjoy the lake's night sounds. Sit and roast marshmallows or watch a movie on the huge 10 ft. outdoor movie screen, complete with a projector and bluetooth speaker--who doesn't like to watch movies under the stars!   

  Walk into the well-equipped kitchen, complete with stainless appliances. The kitchen offers everything you will need, including a Keurig coffee pot and tea station to get you started in the morning. The family/dining area has a warm and cozy electric fireplace and TV for watching movies or TV shows using the provided streaming services, a wide variety of movies, or the HDMI-HDMI-C cable to connect to your iPad, tablet or computer. We also offer a wide variety of board games and books for all ages. 

There are 3 small and comfortable bedrooms complete with luxurious linens. The main bedroom has a queen-size bed, the middle room has single bunks and the far room has a double bed. All the bedrooms have dressers and/or wardrobes.  The rooms have ceiling or table fans, and there is a portable air conditioner for those warmer nights. And if the nights are cooler, snuggle up under the cozy comforters and blankets or turn on the electric baseboard heaters. 

The bathroom is spacious and has a lovely corner shower. The soft, fluffy towels and complimentary green tea scented bathroom amenities will make you feel pampered in your home away from home.
